OUR WORK
-
Joyce Anita Kikalos foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping students pursue a degree in nursing, and those seeking to further their education in the nursing field. The foundation was founded in 2020, two and a half years after Joyce passed in a tragic car accident. It was her dream to become a nurse. She lost her mom (Ceola Hamilton) to an ailment, that today would be curable. She then made a brave choice to care for her family; therefore, giving up her dreams of becoming a nurse. Joyce donated her life insurance proceeds to start a scholarship foundation to allow nurses an opportunity to further their career.
-
The JAK foundation offers a scholarship opportunity semiannually- “The Joyce Anita Kikalos Scholarship”.
-
Recipients must be accepted or plan to attend a two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school.

Our foundation provides resources for uniforms, stethoscopes, books and comfortable shoes. Many of our scholarship awardees return back to the Joyce Anita Foundation and donate their time. We provide funds to help purchase the basic essentials to perform daily duties; provide assistance with resume writing and enhancements, and funding for continued education.
-
Our foundation volunteers at hospitals, facilities, home health care, etc.

Make a Nurse Day - provide lunch, thank you notes, cards, and tokens of appreciation.
